The non-partisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau (LFB) has released its summary of the governor’s proposed budget bill. It is available online. (See links below.)
Considered by lawmakers to be the definitive analysis, the LFB summary document breaks the budget bill down on an agency-by-agency basis, according to the state agency responsible for administering the particular program(s) being funded. Most K-12 provisions will be found under Department of Public Instruction (DPI). (more…)

The WASB has obtained updated information on the fiscal impact of Gov. Evers’ funding reform proposal on each school district. (See links below.)
The updated printout, generated by the DPI, provides information sorted alphabetically by district name and reflects both October 15th aid certification data for each district for 2018-19 and the School Levy Tax Credit amounts per district for 2018-19.

This is the time in the legislative session when many lawmakers hold budget “listening sessions” or “office hours” at various public locations in their districts to gather input on the proposed budget from their constituents.
At these “listening sessions” members of the public are typically invited to share questions and concerns about matters involving state government, including particularly the state budget.
These “listening sessions” are great opportunities for school leaders to communicate their priorities and viewpoints on the proposed state budget. We are aware of several “listening session” opportunities and are sharing information about them with you in hopes that you will attend and share your district’s needs and wishes. If your legislator is not listed below, we suggest you check your local newspapers or your legislators’ e-newsletter or personal website to find the dates, times and locations for listening sessions that may be planned in your area.
