Email: lasbury@wasb.org
Lauri Asbury was elected to the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards on Oct. 23. Asbury began her three-year term in January 2026, during the annual Wisconsin State Education Convention in Milwaukee.
A member of the Neenah Joint School District Board of Education since 2016, Asbury will represent Region 7, which includes more than 25 school districts in eastern Wisconsin.
Currently serving as vice president of the Neenah Board of Education, Asbury chairs the district’s Legislative Committee and serves on the Board Policy Committee. Her fourth term on the Neenah Board runs until April 2028.
Asbury, who received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and master’s from the La Follette School of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is the parent of two Neenah High School graduates. She is a dedicated education advocate and volunteer, including serving organizations such as the Neenah-Menasha Emergency Society, the Wisconsin Alliance for Civic Trust, and the League of Women Voters.
Asbury succeeds Barbara Herzog, an Oshkosh School Board member since 2013, who was term-limited after serving nine years on the WASB Board.
