May 2026 Wisconsin School News

The May issue of Wisconsin School News showcases how Wisconsin schools and leaders are innovating, connecting and leading with purpose. Readers will discover how the Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education is expanding access to hands‑on environmental learning through free kit lending and student mini‑grants, and how schools across the state are integrating outdoor education into learning in every season and subject area. This issue also features Burlington High School baseball head coach Scott Staude and his work with International Sports Group to help grow the game of baseball in Europe. In addition, new and experienced school board members alike will benefit from WASB Consultant George Steffen’s insights on the importance of structured onboarding, along with reflections and advice from three veteran Wisconsin school board members on effective, purpose‑driven leadership.
