Convention Security Details

We want everyone to have an engaging, safe and informative experience at the 2026 Wisconsin State Education Convention. With this in mind, security is at the forefront of our concerns as we prepare for the convention.

For the second consecutive year, weapons screening detectors will be placed at every entrance to the Baird Center, including skywalks. No person can enter the Baird Center without passing through these screeners. We have worked closely with the Public Safety Department throughout our convention planning. In an effort to limit lines and ensure efficiency, they are providing higher-tech screeners this year that will minimize the amount of attendees that have to open their bags.

Additionally, to report a medical crisis or other emergency with the Baird Center’s house phones, dial “EMERGENCY-6165” instead of “911” to guarantee the fastest response.
