DOJ announces $4 million in school safety grants to 89 school districts and private schools

Attorney General Brad Schimel today announced an additional 89 schools and school districts that have been awarded grants through the Wisconsin Department of Justice School Safety Grant program, administered by DOJ’s Office of School Safety. Combined, the recipients will receive $3,980,473 which will be spent on building safety improvements, as well as training for faculty and staff.

More school safety grants announced: $2.9 million to 40 school districts and private schools

Attorney General Brad Schimel today announced a list of 40 schools and school districts that have been awarded the next round of grants through the Wisconsin Department of Justice School Safety Grant program. Combined, the 40 schools and school districts will receive $2,895,658 which will be spent on building safety improvements, as well as training for faculty and staff.

DOJ announces $3.5 million in school safety grants to 52 school districts and private schools

Attorney General Brad Schimel today announced an additional 52 schools and school districts that have been awarded grants through the Wisconsin Department of Justice School Safety Grant program, administered by the Office of School Safety. Combined, the 52 recipients will receive $3.5 million which will be spent on building safety improvements, as well as training for faculty and staff.

State Supt. Evers asks Attorney General Schimel to use remaining school safety grant monies for mental health

State Superintendent Tony Evers sent a letter to Attorney General Brad Schimel as well as the co-chairs of the state’s budget committee, Sen. Alberta Darling and Rep. John Nygren, urging that some of the remaining school safety grant funds be used on the following mental health programs noting that there has been strong demand for the programs from school districts:

Collaborative Community/School Mental Health Grants. These grants support school and community health providers in expanding mental health services to students.

DOJ announces over $10 million in school safety grants to 147 school districts and private schools

Attorney General Brad Schimel today announced an additional 147 schools and school districts that have been awarded grants through the Wisconsin Department of Justice School Safety Grant program, administered by DOJ’s Office of School Safety. Combined, the 147 recipients will receive $10,253,487 which will be spent on building safety improvements, as well as training for faculty and staff.
