Celebrating the WASB Centennial
The Wisconsin Association of School Boards, founded in 1921, is approaching its 100-year anniversary. We’ll be publishing stories that look back at each decade of education in Wisconsin. Before we celebrate our centennial, though, we’d like your help.
We’re hosting a special award for 2020 National History Day in Wisconsin and are asking students to explore the history of their local schools and the role of their locally elected school board in that history. Two of these students will be selected for the Wisconsin School Board History Award.
All students will be eligible to have their work on exhibit at the 2021 Wisconsin State Education Convention and on the WASB website.
We’re asking our members to get involved by:
- Encouraging your students to participate and document the history of your local schools.
- Serving as a judge. The Wisconsin Historical Society needs judges for the History Day awards at both the regional and state competitions.
