Insurance Plan Endorsed Agency Program
The Wisconsin Association of School Boards Insurance Plan (Plan) Endorsed Insurance Agency (EIA) Program was introduced in January 2013. The EIA Program was developed to inform WASB members about insurance agencies that have a proven track record of knowledge about and experience with school districts’ and CESAs’ property and casualty and/or employee benefits insurance portfolios. It includes four insurance agencies specializing in serving the property and casualty and employee benefits insurance needs of Wisconsin school districts and CESAs. The firms’ qualifications and experience with Wisconsin public school districts was researched and vetted by the Plan Trustees.

These agencies were selected based on their knowledge, depth of resources, and experience in facilitating the provision of insurance and risk management services meeting the special needs of Wisconsin school districts and CESAs, and their willingness to collaborate with the Plan to expand programming in this regard. The EIAs have many at-no-additional-cost resources and programs designed to help districts and CESAs mitigate and prevent losses, and enhance employee health and productivity, all which serve to favorably impact WASB members’ financial status. The agencies have agreed to collaborate with the Plan to research and analyze loss and injury trends and programs which, by experience, result in better-than-average outcomes for participating school districts and CESAs. The EIAs have participated in WASB and Plan presentations and shared information to help school districts and CESAs use resources efficiently in order to focus on improving student achievement.
School districts and CESAs are encouraged to contact the agencies for more information.
In addition, as a WASB member benefit, the Plan continues to offer access to resources and insight from Gänder Consulting Group as a complimentary service. The firm, which sells no insurance, fields inquiries about a multitude of insurance-related topics. Call Joy Gänder at 608-286-0286 or email her at gander@ganderconsulting.com with your questions. Joy has worked with Wisconsin school districts and CESAs for more than 30 years.

I have found the Wisconsin Association of School Boards Insurance Plan’s Endorsed Insurance Agency (EIA) program to be a great resource to me, and all of our WASB members. The endorsed agencies’ presentations, newsletters, and webinars have helped me better understand insurance issues and how those insurance issues affect our main function — educating students.
