Resolutions adopted by the annual Delegate Assemblies set the policy direction for the WASB and its lobbying efforts. Once adopted, these resolutions remain in force unless amended or repealed.

Thank you to all who attended the 2023 Education Convention in Milwaukee. Thank you to those who attended our Legislative Update session Friday morning. At this session we provided an overview of the dynamics in play for the 2023-24 Legislative Session and 2023-25 state budget timeline.A copy of the PowerPoint presentation is available here.

The Report to the Membership on Proposed 2023 WASB Resolutions has now been posted on the WASB website. You can find it here.
The report presents the resolutions that were advanced by the Policy & Resolutions Committee and will be considered by the WASB Delegate Assembly along with the rationale for each resolution. Other informational materials related to the Delegate Assembly are also posted on the WASB website.
The WASB Delegate Assembly will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023 as part of the State Education Convention.
Delegate packets with hard copies of this information will be mailed to all delegates and district administrators shortly.
When WASB members ask about how the WASB’s legislative priorities are set, we point them to the WASB Resolutions Book. Resolutions adopted by the annual WASB Delegate Assemblies set the policy direction for the WASB and its lobbying efforts.
Once adopted, those resolutions remain in force unless amended or repealed. That can mean resolutions can, at times, become outdated or no longer reflective of positions that a majority of WASB member boards currently hold.
